ive joined the many thousands or millions of people with that damn sour taste that seems to extend from somewhere in the middle of my throat to the back of my mouth. it only happens at this time of night. and its been quite frequent lately. weeeeeeeeeeird. acid reflux? meh. doesnt hurt. oh wait, perhaps i could describe it as a mild, dull burning kind of sensation in my chest. ah. perhaps it is acid reflux. perhaps i should wash it down with some water. oh wait. could this be hunger? my stomach isnt growling though. mmm.... curious...
im just doing some random revision and i cant, for the life of me, remember the difference between type one and type two diabetes. so i googled and came to this website
What are the signs of diabetes?
The signs of diabetes are
- being very thirsty
- urinating often
- feeling very hungry or tired
- losing weight without trying
- having sores that heal slowly
- having dry, itchy skin
- losing the feeling in your feet or having tingling in your feet
- having blurry eyesight
You may have had one or more of these signs before you found out you had diabetes. Or you may have had no signs at all. A blood test to check your glucose levels will show if you have pre-diabetes or diabetes.
oh shit. i pee a lot. im ALWAYS tired. AND HUNGRY. my skin is itchy. my toes always go numb and cold. and im hopelessly myopic. hahah damn. seriously, i wish there was some crooked doctor out there who'd be willing to prescribe me some drugs to make me more energetic. sometimes i wonder if i have hypothyroidism. unfortunately i probably only have the metabolism rate of a snail.
ah yes. i shall not forget the difference between Type one and type two now.

today (or rather yesterday?) i discovered the lens rack. OH, THE AWESOMENESS OF THE LENS RACK. I THINK I LOVE THE LENS RACK. WHY? WHY DIDNT WE MEET EARLIER? 5 minutes with the lens rack and i think im in love. it's made retinoscopy so much easier. i can compare the reflexes faster, allowing me to get a freaking endpoint at last. even if each step is 0.50D or more, at least im more accurate now! this may be a lifesaver! especially with the clinical exams coming up :S
ive learnt a few things already in this last semester. reading that paediatrics textbook really helped. now i know how to deal with children a little better. children probably think im crazy cuz i say so much rubbish while i ret them. and all those books on refraction and retinoscopy. thank goodness i found those books.
